Actor Hugh Grant has announced his support for a collaboration between the University of Gloucester and charity Protection Against Stalking, of which he is patron.

Lecturer Dr Jane Monckton-Smith has created a Domestic Abuse Reference Tool which aims to work alongside police training to reduce the amount of abuse-related deaths by helping law enforcement respond better to reports of stalking and domestic abuse. In a YouTube video Grant said 'People who are harassed by a former or even a current partner are in more danger than some might realise and they can be victimised in many ways'.
